From the ancient game of Ludo to the more upbeat games of today, board games spell family fun and interaction. These are used for educational as well as play activities, and help children to learn values and strategies. The choices of games available are diverse and include those which cover subjects from general knowledge to space travel. Looking through the board game section of games websites, the diversity of boards games continues to thrive as an entertainment for adults and children alike. A board game is played on a cardboard base, which lays out the playing arena. Accessories included with games include dice, player pieces and often currency and counters. Counters are plastic pieces which represent the player's current position within the game.
